NOISE SCHOOL preventing hearing damage and raising awareness.
Developed in 2013
The Noise School is an extension of Project 024 Noise control in the aluminium industry.
From that project the importance of educating our workforce was evident.
The purpose of the noise school is to create a curriculum on the subject that can be motivating and easy to understand. A key part of the approach is the use of a noise meter connected to a projector. It is monitoring during the lecture and shows the noise level. Experience shows that this creates involvement and interest. Noise meter is also an essential part of the lecture when different noise sources are tested.
The Noise school was developed at BHT Hydro Karmøy by Kjetil Vold (physiotherapist) and Michael Schou (doctor).
