Background Spent pot lining (SPL) is partly recycled today, the part that is not recycled is landfilled. This we like to change. The project is in two parts; PART 1:Mapping of methods with literature study (identification of organizations and companies) and feasibility evaluation.
Scope
Find the best way to recycle SPL for the AMS plants.
Get a good overview of what is being done and what is in the pipelines for future use of SPL.
What are the "products" of the processes, for what and by whom are the "products" used.
Advantages and disadvantages with each method.
What fits the Nordic plants the best.
PART 2:In-depth study of chosen methods, with mass flow analysis listing all inputs and outputs, along with environmental impact.
